I’m getting increasing annoyed with the official Kindle Direct Publishing boards. It’s very petty and annoying there. So I’m spending more time on the Writer’s Café on Kindle Boards which is non-Amazon affiliated but it seems to have a better class of writer chat on there. Any way, I’m peddling my wares on there too – i.e. cover design. There was a cover someone was working on which I didn’t like because I thought it was a little too racist for my English post-colonial tastes. So I had a mess about with my own version, to see what I could come up with:
Racist Book Cover (Well Slightly Racist)

/ September 20, 2012I agree with you about the KDP forums. Sad, but true. For some time I’ve considered getting on board at Writer’s Cafe, and I may well do so this winter (too busy now).
BTW, I used the link you have above and read what you posted today. I saw your Kindle Cover Design banner and was thrilled to see the cover you created for Tom’s Presumed Dead. I have to tell you that I think that cover is the most beautiful cover in the history of the world! A bit of hyperbole, of course, but you get my drift. Seriously, both Tom and I are 100% thrilled with it. Every time I see it, I see perfection, And the interesting thing is that (as you know) I had a different concept in mind originally. But when I saw that cover option I instantly knew it was the one… Thanks (again) for creating something so fantastic for us.
We really appreciate it.
AND, I’m just moments away from sending you the info for the next cover. Can you believe it? I finally got it together. So be prepared!
